Pregnant penny torso

This was based off a body cast taken of a 9-month-pregnant torso.
The entire piece is hollow, 2 layers thick of pennies glued to each other.

Clay is then pressed into the silicone mold of the face to ensure perfect duplication of the facial volumes. Neck, shoulders, and the back of the head are then added freehand based on pictures of the subject. The posture is adjusted based on the desired pose. The eyes are then sculpted open, hair and eyebrows are added, and the piece is re-textured.
